A large inertia drum and long concave separation area can easily be set to perform in a wide range of crops and conditions. A speed differential between the crop and drum speed results in thorough initial threshing.
A large-diameter beater provides excellent material handling and additional separation as the second concave extends the separation area.
The cutterbar can be adjusted to mid, extended and retracted positions, enabling the combine to handle all crop conditions, which is especially important when there are lodged crops.
In the retracted position, the cutterbar works better in crops that are down and tangled or in crops with heavy weeds that can cause plugging.
The extended position is suitable for standing, tall, heavy-stemmed crops such as sorghum, tall wheat, and soybean as well as for very short, light, dry crops. This position enables material to fall and feed evenly under the platform auger. Its tilt angle is adjustable to 9 degrees.
Unlike the cam technology in competitive harvesters, the W70 combine harvester incorporates wobble box technology to operate the cutterbar. The wobble box prevents vibration, thus reducing crop damage.
